From October 12 to November 1, 2024, Gelgoog’s Cocoa Business Division conducted a 21-day in-depth market tour across West Africa’s core cocoa-producing regions — Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire. As a global integrated service provider of cocoa processing technology, equipment R&D, and turnkey delivery, Gelgoog focused on regional industry challenges and development opportunities, delivering professional solutions that gained strong recognition from local clients.
Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire together account for over 60% of global annual cocoa production, yet their local processing rate remains below 30%, highlighting an urgent demand for industrial upgrading. During the visit, Gelgoog’s technical team conducted on-site factory surveys and in-depth technical discussions with local processors, consultants, and investors, accurately identifying key challenges such as raw material cost pressure, equipment yield efficiency, and deep-processing capabilities.
In Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, one client, facing rising raw material costs, showed strong interest in Gelgoog’s cocoa nibs sorting production line and customized processing solutions aimed at maximizing yield. With its proven process design and fast-response technical service, Gelgoog successfully signed two project cooperation agreements on-site and established long-term technical partnerships with five regional companies.

At present, the Cameroonian government is actively promoting its 2025 Cocoa Processing Capacity Doubling Plan, while multiple enterprises in Côte d’Ivoire are accelerating investments in grinding, cocoa butter pressing, and chocolate production. Market demand for advanced equipment and processing technology is expected to expand continuously.
